Need a brad nailer for your workshop? Look no further, this little tool is great. The compressor is small, lightwieght and (relatively)quiet. The nailer is also light but neverthless feels substantial and well built. And the gun uses so little air the compressor hardly ever needs to run. I use it for woodworking and projects around the home. Enough power for hard woods, and it does not mar the finish. I considered spending more for a DeWalt or Porter-Cable set up, but for my needs I'm glad I bought this package. It's easy to carry the entire set in one hand (very convenient). I'll never need to go beyond the 2 1/2 inch max. capacity. So ask yourself what you really need. If your not doing framing, work alone, and want a quality finished product, buy this set. The only drawbacks are (i) the instruction manual with little actual instruction and (ii) the 3 week delivery time. Hopefully supplies will increase over time.

I'm impressed.

I upgraded to this from a cheap little electric brad nailer that could not sink a 1" brad. This tool is light and has plenty of power. The compressor is small quiet and has absolutely no problem keeping up with the nailer. I own an old 5 horse 220 v compressor but wanted something to use inside the house without running hundreds of feet of hose from the garage. This will fill my needs perfectly. brP.S. I shop online alot and would like to say that Amazon.com has the best customer service of any company I have dealt with.

Hi I got this thing and it was great except that it broke! I called today and since it has been past 90 days, it is not under warranty. Amazon will not take it back because it is classified as disposable.

I got this package for very light duty use - woodworking shop projects and qtr-round molding on flooring. The nailer is a quality tool that sells for $120 everywhere so that makes the compressor only $75. I had a $15 coupon so the compressor was only $60 for me.brThe compressor is so light that it is no problem carrying it. The tank pressure is 125 lbs and I set the tank outlet pressure to 90 lbs. It shoots about 10 brads before it cycles but you can keep shooting as it runs. I used 5/8" brads on molding on a shop project and 2" brads on floor qtr-round without a single problem. This sure saves time and doesn't mar the wood. It is pretty quiet and also looks good. Getting to small jobs and using this little tool is a pleasure. I will get an air blower tip for it; so far I'm satisfied.

I own several portable compressors, but hate to lug them around. So, I bought this one for installations of wood mantels and little odd and ends work (like attaching a piece of trim after the rest of the job is already done). The little compressor is lightweight and perfect for small jobs like these. On bigger jobs I still use one of my heavy duty compressors. So, that may be the problem some of the other reviewers are having. It's just not built for heavy duty work.
br /
br /The gun on the other had was a disappointment. I already had a Senco XP 25 and prefer it. Still, it's a pretty good price for both pieces, so, no real complaints here. I've just set the newer one aside, for now.
br /
br /Regarding the cheap 1/4 inch hose... pleeeease. Anyone with half a brain knows it's a cheap piece of krap, but will work fine for the occasional hobbiest. If you want a good hose, buy one.

I agree with the other reviewers who have given praise to this product. I felt the same way till mine broke after less than a months use.brOf course it was the compressor which broke, the part with the 90 day warranty. I did not catch that when I bought this.brSenco is a good company, but I think this little compressor is not quite up to the quality of their other products.brIn my case it was the 1/4" copper tubing which brings the air to the tank that failed. It split where the tubing had been bent.brI have fixed it with some liquid steel, since I'm on a job with it, I'm hoping the repair lasts till I have time to replace to tubing.brI have used this to build two large bookcase and cabinet projects so far, and in doing so I have learned the compressors limitations. It does not do wellbrshooting two inch nails into MDF. It does not have the power to fully sink the nail into the material. I bought this combo for the light weightbrof the compressor, so I guess there must be some compromises. This won't take the place of more powerful compressors, brbut it is great for carrying to and from a job. I just hope I do not have problems with it in the future. I'm not sure I wouldbrrecommend this product, the 90 day warranty on the compressor is a big negative. especially since it seems to have some problems.

This is a great little unit. I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough power, since it is only a 1 gallon unit. Most others in the same price range is 4-6 gallons. Boy was I wrong! I'm shooting 2" brads into red oak no problems at all. And I don't have to lug around a giant compressor. The more convenient it is, the more you'll use it! It also has a quality feel to it. The Bostitch has an inferior plastic handle that breaks. No such problem on the Senco.
br /
br /It takes a while to get up to the right pressure, but no different than a Bostitch. I wished I got it sooner!

This nailer came three days ago. Bummer. The compressor cannot build up pressure to run the nailer. I called Senco; they were insulting and implied I did something wrong. They proceeded to tell me to tighten bolts etc. None of it worked. Then they had the nerve to tell me to "just try to return it". I tried and did. Enough of them. Buy this product and deal with Senco at your own risk.

I am a mid-level do-it-yourselfer, and purchased this kit for baseboard and casing projects around the house. The compressor is small and light, easily fits in the trunk or back seat, a breeze to move from place to place. It cycles after 4 or 5 quick shots, but I work deliberately so any lag in recovery is not a problem for me. I live in an apartment, and I agree with others who have found the noise level lower than other compressors, a blessing in that environment.
br /
br /Not having any experience with air tools, yet knowing it was the way to go to install casing and baseboard in my kitchen remodel, I agonized over whether to get a brad or finish nailer. I opted for a brad nailer since the Hitachi saw I purchased came with a coupon for a free 16ga finish nailer-- a deal I couldn't pass up. While still waiting for the freebie to arrive, I have been using the brad nailer and it is nothing less than terrific. The holes it makes are small, it is easy to handle, and drives the brads where I want them. The true test is that none of the casing I have installed has fallen off the wall yet! Some have spoken of the chintzy grip on the gun. I suspect Senco was listening, since the grip that came with it is improved.
br /
br /I imagine someone doing this work for their living might see some shortcomings, but give the price, portability and utility, this is a fine package.

Drives 2 1/2" nails in well but needs a fair amount of recovery time if you are driving more than a few nails at a time. Much quieter than a gas gun. It's a light weight compressor for light weight work.

Nice quiet efficient compressor, no missed shots yet! Easy to place and easy to shoot. Assembly was a snap with everything included, including teflon tape which is a must when using this type of equipment.

I bought this for doing trim and it has done excellent. I also brought an excellent Hitachi narrow crown stapler. Neither the stapler or the brad gun in this combo set have mis-fired yet. They are great products.
br /
br /The compressor is quiet and very convenient for interior trim. I used it to power the narrow crown stapler to lay down underlayment for vinyl and it had to breathe hard (I had to pause a little) when placing staples every two seconds. But then again, how often do you do that? It was a mild inconvenience for a wonderful compressor.
br /
br /I also ran a framer off of this to tack in siding. It did fine but had to run every 3 nails so I only sunk the minimum nails I needed to secure it then came afterward once my friend was done using his compressor.
br /
br /You may want to opt for the next step bigger compressor if you might need it with a framer.
br /
br /I somehow lost the air filter for this. Their customer help was the nicest I have ever experienced and they are mailing me a new filter for free. Excellent customer service.

Love it!

This is my first foray into the land of the pneumatic nail gun, so my judgment of this nailer may be distorted by the 'gee whiz' new-ness factor. I bought a pneumatic nailer because the last time I installed door and window molding, the molding would shift from level by the time I could drive the nail home using a hammer. I was left with less than desirable results, so I was determined not to repeat that mistake with my next project.
br / I purchased this Senco after doing some on-line research, knowing that I would not be doing heavy duty construction work, and balancing price with performance. The purchase through Amazon went smoothly, and the package arrived much sooner than advertised-- a pleasant surprise.
br / Yesterday I used the compressor and gun for the first time to install door casings. Set-up was fairly straight forward, and it was up and running in a matter of minutes.
br / Once the compressor is turned on and reaches the operating pressure (within a minute), it shuts down, so you don't have to hear it running all the time. Although the compressor is not loud, you don't want to listen to it all day. The gun is light-weight and comfortable to work with. Simply pressing the gun against the wood and pulling the trigger, I was able to shoot a nail (technically a brad) into the wall with virtually no kick-back. I was quickly able to install the wood casing, much, much faster, and better, than using any manual hammer method. The nail is automatically counter-sunk, and the nail hole is smaller than a comparable nail. I was quite impressed. (I was even more impressed by the carpenters of the 1890's who installed the original casings in my house 'right on' without any electrical tools of any kind.) After about five or six nailings, the compressor would kick in again and power up to the required pressure. This takes only a few seconds, but some reviewers have complained about the frequency of this pressure re-cycling, that a bigger tank is required. My response is "So what!". I have a light-weight compressor that I can pick up with one hand and move it to wherever I want it without much effort or need for a large storage space.
br / I am very pleased with this Senco nailer. Hopefully it will stand the test of time.

This is a perfect unit for the homeowner. The compressor is amazingly lightweight and quiet. I can carry on a normal conversation with it running in the same room. Senco really thinks of everything by including the teflon tape and quick connects, etc.
br /
br /Granted, it was probably not geared for the career finish carpenter. But for the weekend handyman it has been great. The only thing I added was a polyurethane straight air hose, because I don't really care for the coil hoses.
br /
br /This is the 3rd Senco tool I've bought and I've been very pleased with each one, I would say that I will continue buying their air tools but there are only so many nailers that a homeowner needs if they aren't a carpenter or woodworker.

I too had a problem with the 1/4 tubing that is attached to the compressor it cracked right where it bends I used to intall wainscotting and it worked fine....BUT you have to wait after 10 shots for it you build up presure. before you go at it again... I will try liquid steel to seal the crack. I think it cracked because I used it outside on a warm day and then the sun went down and got cool out since the tubing gets hot it must of cracked. overall for the price it worth it for small jobs

My wife purchased this combo package for me for my birthday this year (well, more like I bought it and thanked her for it). I have to say, I am impressed. pTHE BRAD NAILER:brThe gun is lightweight and small enough to get into tight spots, yet it appears to be very well built. The protective no-mar pad does not scratch prefinished moulding, and the side load magazine is convenient and easy to use. I shot about 200 2" brads while installing new 1/2" baseboards and 3/4" birch door trim in my bedroom. Every brad was countersunk to perfect depth, and I did not get a single jam. I ended up with very professional results and finished in 1/2 the time it would have taken me with the old hammer and finish nails.pTHE COMPRESSOR:brThe PC1010 will change the industry. For homeowners, hobby woodworkers, and customer service professionals in the cabinetry industry this is the perfect compressor. There is no need to lug around a 4 or 6 gallon compressor for a little brad nailer. You can easily carry the nailer, hose, and bread box sized compressor in one hand. From startup, this quiet, lightweight little workhorse takes about 2 minutes to pump up to 110 psi. I consistently got 10 shots before kick in, then another 40 seconds or so to recover. I nailed right through the recovery time, and never had to wait for the compressor to before driving any brads.pSHORTFALLS:brIt is very difficult for me to find anything that I don't like about this one. However, rumor has it that Senco guns work best with Senco brads, and the local home improvement stores sell mostly PC and Bostich... so I will need to find another source. I would not recommend the PC1010 for anyone who wants to drive anything larger than 18ga brads, or run multiple air tools from a single compressor. Also - the compressor is so new that Senco has very limited literature on it, but I would be willing to bet they will get this taken care of soon.pCUSTOMER SERVICE:brSome of the best customer service I have had the pleasure to work with. If you purchased from an authorized dealer, and you have any problems with your equipment, I recommend calling Senco directly.
