I'm more of a weekend warrior on the home improvement front, but just built a large gazebo that was going to require quite a bit of roofing. Always, liking a new tool, I decided that a roofing nailer was in order.

br /I was going to purchase the Milwaukee, but noticed Amazon offering this package deal with the Dewalt Nailer and radio. Since I already owned a Dewalt 18V Cordless drill, I thought it would be nice to be able to charge my batteries right where I was working and be able to listen to the radio. Anyway, to make a long story short, the nailer works smooth as silk and I have yet to have a jam. All nails thoroughly penetrate with no need for those "follow-up taps" that you might suspect to sink them evenly.

br /I've noticed that this item has recently gone up in price, but the package deal was only $239 in January '07. The radio is an awesome bonus that sells locally for over $130 bucks. It charges batteries rapidly and gets great reception. I own mostly Bosch and Milwaukee tools, but already owning the Dewalt drill, made this purchase make sense, and I'm glad it did. We all have our favorite brands, but when the deal is right, I won't hesitate to buy Dewalt.

Both items were something I wanted and the combo made it even better. The nailer made small jobs even smaller.

This is a great item. The unit is lightweight but sturdy for professional roof nailing jobs. Works fast without getting bound up. Radio is great, but do not understand why it includes a CD holder as it does not play CD's. Other than that, it was a GREAT value.
