Description:
Fast, powerful, and intuitively designed, the DeWalt D51321 Coil Roofing Nailer is built to meet the serious demands of roofing professionals. This heavy-duty 3/4-inch to 1-3/4-inch coil nailer offers a cycle rate that lets you work as fast as you need to. A pneumatic-bias feed piston ensures consistent nail feed even when pressure fluctuates. This reduces the potential for skipping and jamming, saving you time, money, and frustration. If a bent fastener does get caught in the nose piece, a nose door with integrated jam clearing means that you get back to work fast. Nail loading is fast and easy too, with an easy-access side-load canister design. For task-specific performance, a unique nail height adjustment lever lets you find the perfect depth setting quickly and without tools. And at just 4.9 pounds with a durable magnesium housing, this tool is easy to handle for improved precision and less end-of-day fatigue. PThis well-balanced tool provides improved safety, with a trigger lock-off that allows you to disable the trigger when the nailer is not in use and replaceable anti-skid pads that prevent the tool from sliding away from you on sloped roofs. And performing routine maintenance and cleaning of the feed piston area is simple with the easy access granted by a convenient hinged cover. Beyond the features that make this nailer so easy to use are a set of details that help ensure dependability and a long life, including durable carbide inserts in the contact trip foot and a double O-ring design that protects the feed piston. This DeWalt High Performance Industrial Tool is backed by a 3-year limited warranty.Get more product details from Amazon

My 4 Dewalt nailers have been through about 70 roofs now with no problems at all. The unit is nice, reasonably priced, and very durable. I also use Porter-cable, Hitachi, Rigid (worst BY FAR), Bostich, and Paslode. If I was to rate it, the only nailer I would put ahead of it is the Hitachi, but it is double the price.

had a big roof to do and did'nt think i needed a air tool for shingles, i have done them by by hand for over 20 years. i saw dewalt was haveing a combo nail gun and radio for a far price, well i thought why not, i can always return them if i did,nt like it. the dewalt air roofing gun was light, fast and so smooth, no jams, it was great. i loved it and i'll never swing a roofing hammer again.........

Well, I needed a roofing gun. Mind you, I try not to do too much roofing but I ran across a couple of roofing projects that I couldn't pass up. So I said "Jim, you need a roofing gun!" I haven't owned one since my old Bostich Ridge Runner.

br /I bought the Dewalt. Good price. It doesn't love the 1 3/4" nails I used on the first job (a roof over). Then again, it is January in Maine. The next job was a strip and shingle over 1" barn boards with 1 1/4" nails. Not as bad, still not perfect. It seems like the gun just doesn't want to set every nail the same. I did a lot of hand setting of the nails that wouldn't seat. Never a jam, though. I would buy it again, but maybe not if I did roofing every day.

I bought this nailer to put shingles on my rather large roof...33 squares and it worked like a champ. I had to crank the pressure up to about 110 psi as I was shooting in 1-3/4" nails. This tool sure saved me a lot of time and the roof turned out great. This is certainly a great investment and it worked flawlessly for me. Highly recommended!

I was pleased with the nailer, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I could never get it to work properly with the sequential trigger installed. It works flawlessly with the bump trigger installed.
Great product.

I purchased two of these Dewalt roofing nailers, just about 3 weeks ago. So far, each gun has approximately 3000 nails through them, and already some very negative things have happened. First of all, both nailers have a double shot problem, that seems to be very consistant. I would say that about every 15th nail, has to be pounded in with a hammer, and about every 20th shot, is a double nail, which also has to be pounded in with a hammer. Not very efficient at all. I have tried both trigger assemblies, and it does not matter which one is used. If you are considering a roofing nailer, the only one I recommend is Bosch. I have a couple of these, and both have 15000+ nails through them, with only one misfire (due to a bad nail). Spend a little more and get a Bosch.
Great for what I need it for

First off, I'm not a roofer. I bought this to roof a shed (2 squares) and to use when I get around to re-roofing my garage. Its pretty simple to operate. I had a few of nails that didn't set completely, but I think that was more from my learning curve with the tool, than the tool itself. I also had a few misfires when the nails didn't feed properly. These were easy to fix, but an aggravation. Again, I don't know if that's from the nails I was using, my technique, or the tool itself. For the price, it was definitely a good buy for me. I don't know how it would hold up for someone who had to use it everyday to put food on the table though (it felt a little flimsy). That's why I gave it 4 stars.

Great price! I can appreciate the lightweight body and ease of use. I don't like the plastic trigger though. The rubber skids on the sides of the gun are a good idea to prevent shingle injury. Also, the exhaust should be more easily adjustable. So far I am pretty satisfied with this gun, although at the end of each coil my gun has about a 90% ratio of shooting the last nail. I've had no problems with double shots unless I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing.

We were going to buy a nailer from Harbor Freight, but they did not offer a budget nailer (under $100) for 11 guage, 1 3/4" nails. After some online shopping, we decided to go ahead and spend a little more money to buy this Dewalt nailer from Amazon. We are using it to overlay new shingles over old on our house. So far, the nailer works well and we are pleased with this purchase.

At first, had a tough time completely setting 1 3/4" nails through second layer of shingles. Increased compressor pressure to 100 and had no more problems. Only one misfire in well over 10,000 nails so far. I occasionally bump the trigger lock when picking up the gun which is slightly annoying. A few other guns I've used are easier to load coils, but this is not a big deal compared to the very reasonable price. More than happy with this purchase.

bought this a month or two ago for a small roofing job on my house. at $142 new in box i couldn't pass it up. finally got to use it today and it worked great. i switched triggers before i used it to make it fire only when i pulled the trigger. couldn't get the hang of it that way so i put the bump trigger back on and it worked like a charm. only had a few nails that didn't go in the whole way, but from what i hear that is the case with most roofing nailers. if you're lokking for a tool to make your roofing projects go smoothly, give this one a try.

I have nothing but good to say about the Dewalt D51321 Roofing Nailer that I purchased a couple of months ago. I just finished a 41 square roof with not one nail jam. That is approximately 9000 nails ran through the gun. I am not a professional roofer but with this gun I could get there. The easy pressure adjustments and rapid fire feature make this item a perfect fit for any amature or professional roofer. Plus you will not find this item cheaper anywhere else. I know, I have searched the net for hours looking. Thanks again Amazon.com for your great prices and excellent service.

Looks good, broke it out today and it skipped every other nail right out of the box. I've tried everything, air pressure, nails, cursed it and cursed it somemore. Extreemly upset to put it mildly especially when it was cold this morning. It almost landed on my concrete floor in a pile of tools at about 70 mph along with my milwaukee drill ( its old though) and my brand new framing nailer. And a new level. And my pls 5 and some other broken misc. tools.
br /Sending it back and set me back a couple weeks on my roof!!!!!
br /Lame tool!!!!!
