Good Tool - Limited Use

First off, let me say that this is an absolutely great tool. As all previous reviewers have mentioned, a coil nailer has a greater capacity which reduces reloading time. If you want to shoot and go, this is the tool to use for framing.
br /
br /The only negative thing I have to say about the tool, isn't even about the tool itself, but the availability of nails. The tool manufacturer claims the gun accepts 1-1/2" to 3-1/2" nails. However, the availability of nails less than 2-3/8" is nonexistent.
br /
br /A variety of nail sizes would make this a good all around nailer, but with the limited type of nails available, its use is limited. Want to put up a fence using inch-and-a-half galvanized nails? You'll have to use a different nailer.
br /
br /For nails less than 2-3/8", you'll have to use a roofing nailer or other stick nailer. As a homeowner, I'd rather not have to have 4-5 nailers in my arsenal if I can get by with 2 or 3.
br /
br /Again, it's an excellent tool, but with the limited nails available for this gun, think twice about making the purchase. If all you do is house-type framing, then this is the tool for you.

300 nails is better than 50

I recently purchsed the Porter Cable coil350 and have found that there is a great saving in time not having to reload your nail gun every 50 or so nails. The 300 nail coils also have very few mis fires, when nailing off sheating or decking it is a great time saver. It also is a lot safer when sheating a roof not to have to stop so often to reload. The coil350 has great power and has very few nails not to completely sink the full round head nail.

With a full coil of 3.25" nails installed, hauling this tool around is a chore. Nonetheless, I've been through 3 coils thus far and haven't had any misfires. Regarding toe-nailing, the one-shot safety mechanism is a pain in a butt when attempting to activate. The size of the gun limits you.brRegarding nails. I highly suggest you call your local merchants to see if they have coil nails in stock. I reside in the San Fernando Vally of California and drove to 6 places to find nails. Of course, if Amazon would learn to ship their products as stated (as in, coil nails), one wouldn't have such a problem. When shooting flush to the wood with the tank set at 120, the 3.25" nails countersink (on average) of 1/4". This is in reference to the VC coated nails.brFinally, unless you have an inline air filter installed, or auto oiling kit, I highly suggest you squeeze about 6 drops of oil into the air port of the gun before each day's usage. brPS: took about 13 business days to arrive. At the time I ordered, Amazon listed the gun available for shipping in 24 hours. What say you?
Nice nailer, order nails on line

If you want a nailer that can use various length nails, holds quite a few nails, and does not have the long nail holder that gets in the way then this is the one. Go on line and order nails the same time you order this nailer as you will not find nails in most if not all stores in your area. You can always call Porter Cable at 888-848-5175 and order nails. I found they were cheaper and easier to deal with than others.

This is one of the best framing nailers for the job. Out of the box it looks a little large but is very light. I have used this tool for hours on framing. also was used a few times for a quickly needed work bench on the job. This nailer is a quick change on nail size and ready to go again. A home owner could load this tool on Sunday and shoot it all week long,it is a real sweetheart. I

I had to have a nailer to use while my N86C was being repaired.
br /The coil350 filled the bill. In addition you can change it easily between sequential trip and bump trip.
br /
br /Bostitch brand coil nails worked perfectly.
br /
br /I would recommend this tool to anyone needing a powerful framing nailer.

Great Gun

When you read a review like this, you probably want to know if there are any glaringly negative points about this product. With very minor exceptions, this is a great gun. Those two exceptions would be the plastic protective shield that can be a slight annoyance when attempting to toenail and the rubber foot. The foot can be removed for easier toenailing. The one on my gun fell off during nailing, so it doesn't provide a problem anymore. Knowing this prior to purchasing would not have changed my mind about which gun to purchase, Porter-Cable as usual designs and produces great quality products.

Ordered a porter cable coil 350 framing nailer on a tuesday and
br /received it on a friday morning, the BC Eagle 2 3/8 plain shank framing nails came on thursday. I was very impressed with the shipping time as well as the condition in which it arrived. Some of the customer reviews I read stated long delays. Not so in my case, very pleased.
