I purchased this nailer because of its low price and because it appeared to be well-made. In short, because it appeared to be great value for the price. But, don't be fooled, this nailer is the worst nailer I have ever used (and I have used all of the major brands). After obtaining the correct nails, I tested the nailer only to have it jam on the second nail and the jams continued with dishearening regularity. Since the product comes with a one-year limited warranty, I called the toll free Customer Service number to locate the nearest repair center I could send it for warranty repair. The person answering asked where I purchased the item and I told him it was [...] and he replied "oh, damn." I told him I needed to get the nailer repaired or replaced ASAP because I was in the middle of a renovation project that required it. He informed me that there was no place I could send it for repairs other than China, but that I should send a copy of my purchase receipt to him at Great Lakes Tool which I did by attaching a photocopy of receipt to an email message. From my description of the problem, he thought it might need a new piston assembly. After waiting several days I again called Great Lakes Tool's customer service to see what they were going to do to honor the warranty. I was informed that the person to whom I had sent the email was off that day but would return my call the next day. Two days later after receiving no response from Great Lakes Tool, I again called their customer service; this time hearing only an automated message asking me to leave my phone number and my call would be returned ASAP. It wasn't. After repeated attempts, I finally got through to a representative who informed me that they couldn't repair the nailer, nor could they send me the part for me to repair it. Why? Their answer--they didn't have any parts for this nailer and they would have to order them from China. From the tone of the conversation, it was clear that they had no intention doing anything to honor the warranty. In short, the warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on.
