Been roofing for years. Recently purchased the Paslode Model 3175R, Part number 405000. This roofing nailer surpasses the performance of the Bostitch Ridgerunner in my opinion! Loads just as quickly, smooth recoil, much stronger wear plate. Uses standard .120 nails. You want long lasting performance? Try one of these! :-)

I have been doing roofing for several years. I initially started with just a hammer and watched how guys with the guns were working circles around me. I bought a gun and cut my completion time by about 1/3 to 1/2 depending on the roof. It takes a little getting used to, but you'll probably never go back. I have just gotten my 6th Paslode. I still own 4. I have never worn one out. I've had parts replaced, but still own and use the most, my first one. I let my helper use the newer ones. I also keep them set at different settings, depending on the shingles being applied.pIf I could make one change to the gun, it would be the magazine capacity(120). When I'm moving right along, it doesn't take long to go through a coil of nails, however 1 bundle of shingles is about equal to one coil of nails.pI have tried other guns. They don't seem as solid or as smooth as the Paslode. Happy roofing!
